LA Delta Adventures Paddler of the Year, Mark Elliott, Jr.

River Rat Sponsor Mark Elliott, Jr. of H2Go! was honored as the Louisiana Delta Adventures Paddler of the Year.

Louisiana Delta Adventures announced at the River Rat Paddle Challenge this weekend, the 2018 Northeast Louisiana Paddler of the Year award.

In the early 1970's through the 80's paddling in Northeast Louisiana was in the form of canoeing. At one time, there were active outfitters in North Louisiana, but by the early 90's there were none, if any, organized paddling opportunities or organizations. In early 2000, the only notable active outfitter in the state of Louisiana was in South Louisiana.

But Mark Elliott Jr had a vision. He and his brother started H2Go when there was no paddling outfitters or general interest in the area in 2016. They started with one SUP Brand and have now grown into 2 SUP and 2 Kayak brands (all 4 winning major awards for quality and innovation) with 5 major clothing lines and other outdoor enthusiast equipment and accessories.

H2Go has also taught hundreds of people how to paddle at free events and demos. Their guided river tours have led to many board and kayak sales and offer a different way to view Ouachita parish’s natural and downtown city beauty. Their innovative “BayouFit” classes have been full to capacity at each class. H2Go has become an integral part of the downtown arts and culture. They have attended council meetings, art crawls, nature programs/events, water clean-up projects all to create interest and bring more people into the paddling community. Mark himself has been an instrumental part of creating the River Rat Paddle Challenge and it's success.

Mark Elliott, Jr. has taken H2Go from a dream with his brother after buying their first Bōte Paddle Board to the most respected outdoor outfitter in northern Louisiana. We recognize Mark Elliott, Jr. as the Northeast Louisiana Paddler of the Year! Congratulations Mark Elliott, Jr!
